The US Senate’s latest attempt to destroy the United States through an epic tidal wave of immigration appears to be dying and will be pulled from consideration. So says Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)
Immediately upon word of this development, liberals pointed their bony little fingers at everything from the Minutemen to conservative talk radio for sinking the last best chance to restore the golden rule of law, bring justice to the land and bathe America in the glistening harmony of multiculturalism. The vote that might kill this bill was on a motion for cloture, or in my national language, to end the debate and proceed to a vote. Harry Reid is killing this bill, not Michael Savage.
Roughly 1 in 5 Senate Democrats voted against the cloture motion, in effect electing to continue the discussion on how best to secure the country and fix this mess. But instead of negotiating or compromising on some of the more outlandish and unpalatable aspects of this legislation, the jackals that sponsored it decided to just pull it. Now I know why jackals eat their young.
In a recent immigration debate, columnist Mark Steyn faced off with NPR empty suit Juan Williams. Williams made some of the most absurd and offensive statements attributed to average Americans that I have ever heard. He collectively accused conservatives of what he called “silent amnesty”, or giving illegal aliens amnesty by torpedoing this legislation. Unfortunately, in addition to him being just wrong, his way of dealing with the problem is waving his fairy magic wand and pronouncing millions of people to be instant Americans. Now I know why Jackals eat their young. He also stated “That’s why President Bush said just the other day, that people who are trying to block this bill don’t care about America - they’re not doing what’s best for America.”
Now, having served honorably, and nearly died for my country, them’s fightin’ words! I don’t care who utters them, whether Democrat or Republican, and in this case, it has been both. This rhetoric is a pathetic attempt by elitists to further divide the country and lay the blame for this mess at the feet of law-abiding Americans who aren’t stupid enough to be fooled by repeated presentation of the same pig adorned with a slightly different shade of lipstick.
Every single quality of life issue in this country can be reduced down to one thing: The lowest common denominator. Illegal immigration.
It is responsible for straining the medical systems of border towns to death, bankrupting hospitals because aliens don’t pay their bills.
It is helping to bring back deadly, infectious diseases that were previously eradicated in this country.
It is contributing to increasing traffic, longer rush hours and urban sprawl - driving up the demand for fossil fuels and other finite resources, in turn increasing the costs of everything.
It is overcrowding our schools, introducing bilingual education and textbooks due to the failure of illegal aliens to properly assimilate.
It is driving down our wages and stealing our jobs. Illegal aliens are no longer just doing the jobs “Americans don’t want.” They’re branching out in to unionized construction trades.
It is choking our jails, physical infrastructure and legal system to death.
It is resulting in the large scale identity theft of the personal data of hundreds of Americans.
It is resulting in protected classes of berry pickers, dishwashers, maids and menial laborers in violation of the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution.
It has created an entire generation of foreigners with overblown senses of entitlement and importance and no desire to assimilate into our culture. Nothing but “Gimme, gimme, gimme, Gringo!”
It has brought about the ubiquitous automated phone menu, where I have to listen to a message in Spanish prior to hearing “If you wish to hear this message in English, press 1″.
It is fomenting resentment, anger and division among the only segment of the population whose opinions matter, American citizens. Opinion polls consistently show that more than 80% of America wants the border sealed, the aliens accounted for and identified and then sent to the back of the line to be fair to those who have complied with the process. And in that order.
Congress granted amnesty to millions back in 1986 with promises that it would fix the problem. It got worse. Instead of making the tough choices now necessary to actually fix the problem, many in Congress simply take the easy way out and vote to give them all citizenship, so they’re no longer illegal. American Citizenship now reduced to a mere technicality. Now I know why Jackals eat their young.
We can’t even handle the passport backlog for Americans due to new restrictions that were to be part of this bill. How can we ever handle the teeming masses that would we would have to absorb. This fight isn’t over by a long shot. If this bill dies this week, Congress will simply sit on it for a while and try to shove it down our throats when we’ve had our fill of stories of illegal aliens committing gang murders, raping our children or stabbing our war veterans.
If the United States is to survive as a shining beacon of freedom instead of a dumping ground for Mexico’s flotsam and jetsam, the time to stand and be counted is now.
