War of Wits

The Scourge of Our Times

June 15th, 2008

“Multiculturalism is not a rational idea, but is part of the tyranny of wishful thinking that inevitably accompanies the decay of reason.” - Political Correctness - British Author/Researcher Phillip Atkinson

The primary role of any government is to ensure the safety, security and well-being of its citizens while intruding as little as possible into their personal affairs. The secondary role of any government is to ensure that while fulfilling it’s primary role, the will of the majority is given the utmost consideration. But when the will of the majority is no longer even of tangential concern to the government, particularly when said government engages in unapologetic social engineering, thought control or redistribution of wealth, it is tyrrany that prevails.

Just Words?

April 20th, 2008

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them… It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” - Barack Obama

Barack Obama was a virtual unknown until he gave a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Since then, he has made much of the power of words. He He has made millions writing books. He has hypnotized millions of people on the campaign trail with his speeches about hope and change.

But the words he used weren’t always his own. When attacked by the Clintons as being all talk, his response included plagiarized lines because he felt they were so pivotal to the idea that he was qualified to be president. “Just Words?”, I recall he rhetorically asked.  Yes indeed, this is a man who is very familiar with the power of words. The Enemy Doesn’t Always Wear a Headscarf

October 15th, 2007

Throughout history the enemies of the United States were easily recognizable;

They wore the red coat and flew the Union Jack; they wore the jackboot and the swastika; they worshipped the rising sun.

In this modern age of global terror, the enemy praises murder. He hides behind burqua-clad women when attacking or evading or he hides in the burqua itself. In his propaganda videos he often wears a headscarf to hide his face. While focusing on our global enemy however, we must be very cautious; for the enemy doesn’t always wear a headscarf. Sometimes he dons a black robe… And bangs a gavel… And makes decisions so contrary to the rule of law that he should not only be removed from the bench, he should be jailed.

It’s Only Logical if it’s Physical, not Virtual

September 24th, 2007

Part of the federal government’s supposed crackdown on illegal immigration and one of the few absurdities that Republicans capitulated to was this cockamamie notion of a ‘virtual’ border fence. Apparently, Congress lacks the political will to put real physical barriers in place to stop this invasion. That, or they’re just plum lazy. Probably a smattering of both, but it’s the laziness that concerns me. This culture of Congressional couch-potatoism has caused them to take what is arguably the easy way out, relying on the crutch of technology to do that for which they lack the spine.

It matters not if it is software that models weather, runs the neighborhood ATM or sends our astronauts into space; the underlying principles governing the testing processes to discover and remediate defects remains the same.

A Race To The Bottom

July 9th, 2007

Although I often scoff at corny liberal bumper stickers, the latest one “2008: End of an error” couldn’t be more prescient, given the political landscape we find ourselves in. As an independent conservative, I readily admit that on the issue of George Bush, I now have come to agree with many a liberal and believe that Bush has surpassed Bill Clinton as the worst president in American history.

That doesn’t mean that I’ll necessarily crowd the polls to vote for a Democrat just because Bush has turned his back on me and millions of other Americans, just that Bush was all talk. Nothing more than a bunch of Texas euphemisms. He has consistently failed to deliver during the balance of both terms, angering Democrats (good) and alienating Republicans (bad).

Only In The Mind of a Liberal

July 2nd, 2007

Only in the mind of a liberal did George Bush, the CIA or any American have anything to do with the September 11th attacks.

Only in the mind of a liberal should society sanction and pay for the execution of an unborn baby, but not the execution of those beyond redemption.

Only in the mind of a liberal is Osama bin Laden a holy warrior, while George Bush the anti-Christ

Maritime Security: The Soft Underbelly

June 18th, 2007

The most important element of any national security strategy is border security. Borders are one of the primary ways we are distinguished as a nation. A border is solemn. It is not an abstract notion; not something to be held as inconsequential or violated any time a foreigner chooses to do so. On June 10th, 2007, while Congress was ratcheting up the rhetoric to try and convince the American people it was serious about border security, I personally witnessed my borders being repeatedly violated by foreign nationals coming ashore undetected by law enforcement or military personnel. This time, the violators were probably the harmless crew of a foreign cargo vessel. Next time they could be al Qaeda-linked terrorists.

Now I Know Why Jackals Eat Their Young

June 11th, 2007

The US Senate’s latest attempt to destroy the United States through an epic tidal wave of immigration appears to be dying and will be pulled from consideration. So says Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)

Immediately upon word of this development, liberals pointed their bony little fingers at everything from the Minutemen to conservative talk radio for sinking the last best chance to restore the golden rule of law, bring justice to the land and bathe America in the glistening harmony of multiculturalism. The vote that might kill this bill was on a motion for cloture, or in my national language, to end the debate and proceed to a vote. Harry Reid is killing this bill, not Michael Savage.

Conduct Unbecoming

Yahoo - \`ya-(,)hü -

  1. A member of a race of brutes from Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels who have the form and all the vices of humans.
  2. A boorish, crass or stupid person. © 2007 Merriam Webster Inc.

“You put something like this out, its going to get picked apart by every yahoo and whoever those Minutemen people are on the border who can’t find a tee time.” - Bob Beckel, Democratic Strategist - Fox News 5/21/2007

“It reminds me of the old saying, ‘A camel is a horse produced by a committee’.” - Senator Byron Dorgan on the Senate floor 5/23/2007

Besides being the most dishonest discussion to come along in recent years, the heated debate over the US Senate’s poisonous immigration bill is getting uglier by the day. And rightfully so. House Minority Leader John Boehner called the legislation a “piece of shit”. I heartily agree. But when Americans who are gravely concerned about the fate of their country speak out against this piece of shit stinking up the Senate, jerks from all over the political spectrum start calling us names. Democratic strategist and Fox news regular Bob Beckel called anyone who disagrees with this bill stupid.

Shut Up Already!

March 28th, 2007

If I hear one more politician tell me how much they care for and support our veterans, I’m going to hurl.

While spending nearly six months in Balboa Naval Hospital in the early 1990’s, they brought me in a “roomie”. He was about 19; a young Airborne Private who was on a night training jump. His parachute did deploy, but he thinks someone else’s chute underneath him stole his air. He fell pretty hard from about three thousand feet. They brought him in late at night and after determining there was no paralysis or other serious injury, decided to transfer him the next day. But it was late, he was hungry and the galley was closed. The nurse told him he’d have to wait until breakfast to eat.

Absolutely fuming, I shot her a death glance and I then took it upon myself to walk -IV pole trailing- to the base McDonald’s to buy that kid a cheeseburger and a Coke®. I came to the cold realization that this country will never do enough to repay it’s veterans; that we’d have to take care of ourselves. He left the next day. I never saw him again. We shook hands as he was wheeled out and that was it. I never caught more than his last name - now long forgotten. It didn’t matter. I knew if we ever crossed paths again, that he was good for it.

A Dangerous Dialectic

March 25th, 2007

The United States is well on its way to Marxism and may be further along than many people thought. It is well known that there are many professors in American universities that espouse Marxist, collectivist viewpoints. They do so openly.

But how far does this go? How harmful is a bunch of hippie Marxist rhetoric? Aren’t these just the rantings of some isolated loons? The argument I will put forth says that it is all around us. It permeates everything. It influences our thoughts and deeds. It is used by the UN. It is used by Democrats. Hell, it is even used by Republicans in the Senate. It is used by anyone pushing any sort of globalist agenda. Karl Marx would be proud.

The Many Meanings of Moderate

March 14th, 2007

moderate - mod? er ? ate (’mä d(&) r&t - 1). [adj.] Avoiding extremes in behavior or expression. Observing reasonable limits. 2). [v.] Tending toward the mean or average amount or dimension. Having average or less than average quality. Mediocre. 3). [n.] Professing or characterized by political or social beliefs that are not extreme. © 2007 Merriam Webster Inc.

When examined in gross detail, the English language is one of rich expression. But it can also be used in many negative ways. One can use it to misinform and therefore to manipulate people. One can also use it stroke one’s own ego into erroneously thinking that their belief systems represent the values of the vast majority of Americans. Take the word “moderate” for example. John McCain (R.I.N.O. - AZ) is a self-professed “moderate”. But in whose opinion? There is nothing moderate about a sitting United States Senator conspiring with other Senators to circumvent the will of the overwhelming majority of Americans by rewarding millions of foreign criminals with coveted US citizenship.

Hillary Pilloried

January 20th, 2007

“A political solution, while more desirable, is not possible until one side of a conflict has their nose bloodied sufficiently to start talking and stop fighting.”Yours Truly

Hillary Clinton will say or do anything to get elected. All that she seeks; indeed, all that she lives for is absolute power. She has demonized, henpecked, browbeaten, slurred, exaggerated, lied and bullied her way to where she is today with no indication she is about to stop now. To the contrary, her recent comments indicate she is continuing her fabrications in hot pursuit of the Presidency.

Forget that we got “two for the price of one” when we elected “Billary”, it wasn’t much of a bargain. Forget about the scandals. Travelgate… The FBI files… The Rose Law Firm… Vince Foster… Web Hubbel… Questions about cattle futures… Forget that she was a Cubs fan, or a Yankees fan or both… Forget about the ethnic and racial slurs that many witnesses have confirmed over the years. Let’s focus on the present, shall we?

She supports amnesty for illegals, yet recently criticized Republicans –all that stands in her way– for obstructing Democrats on meaningful immigration reform. She claims the G.O.P. isn’t moving fast enough and that she would do better than they securing the border, yet her efforts could add 60 – 100 million people to the US population in the next 20 years. The truth is, no one knows exactly where she stands on important issues.

Project Vote Smart is a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort to educate voters. Candidates are administered a “test”, called the NPAT, to independently gauge their positions on wide range of policy matters. Candidates are not asked what they oppose, only what they support. Hillary Clinton flat out refuses to answer the NPAT.

On television, Clinton exaggerated her little junket to Iraq as if she was sharing in both the risks and the sacrifices of American soldiers. She also took the opportunity to lie and embellish once again. She stated that upon reaching Iraq, due to bad weather, they were advised they [Clinton, Evan Bayh(D-IN) and perhaps others] may have to divert. Their response, as she recounted to Greta Van Susteren, was that they said “Let’s try to get in to Baghdad”. My inner cynic tells me there was more to it than that.

Clinton actually overruled military brass on the ground, possibly putting US pilots and aircrews at risk, just so she could say she’d been there on the ground and the security situation sucks.

Then she told yet another whopper about not being able to chopper in to Baghdad, and having to drive the Highway of Death from the Baghdad Airport to the US controlled Green Zone, which, if she knew her you-know-what from a hole in the ground, she should know is in Southern Iraq. It is where US forces corralled Iraqi troops into a kill box after the latter fled Kuwait in 1991. Stretching yet again, she suggested that because she has to wear body armor (well, she doesn’t have to), that US forces are constrained in their movements and that this has contributed to a lack of intelligence which in turn has contributed to George Bush’s mistakes.

But by far, the biggest indicators of her foreign policy ignorance, tactical ineptitude, and a prime example of the hot air she spews, is her parroting of the Democratic talking points regarding a “phased redeployment”. She criticizes Bush for not sending enough troops, while in the same breath proposing a “cap” on the number of troops. That is for the Generals to decide, not Hillary Clinton.

She won’t give our fighting men the reinforcements or relief necessary to accomplish their mission, then proposes having them “redeploy” in phases. Redeploy to where? How many phases? How many men in each phase? Over how long? Who goes first? Who goes last? Who provides security when we only have a few thousand troops left?

Finally, I leave you with this thought…

Being an American is a privilege. I thank my maker every day for that honor; for that privilege. In her own words, Hillary Clinton thinks that being an American is an obligation. It may be a slip of her forked tongue, but the words of politicians are constantly scripted and often belie cultural disdain for those they govern.

My opposition to Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with her being a woman and everything to do with her being the most divisive, power-drunk, political figure that I have observed in my lifetime. There is simply too much documented evidence that she will say or do whatever it takes to seize absolute power, no matter how dishonest.

Apples And Oranges

January 10th, 2007

“This unfortunately reminds me of when Hitler began rounding up the Jews for no reason and locking them up. Now they’re coming for the Latinos, who will they come for next?”- Carla Vela - Bexar County, TX Democratic Party Chair.

If we as human beings ever intend to carry on a rational discourse about any topic, it is absolutely imperative that people on both sides of the argument employ common sense. There’s no point in two people with opposing viewpoints who are debating the substantive issues of the day comparing apples to oranges. In fact, when either of them does so, it is an intellectually dishonest move and an exercise in futility.

When discussing war, for example; The “war on drugs” isn’t really a war. Neither is the “war on poverty.” The US military isn’t burning South American coca fields and toppling their tenuous dictatorships or bringing aid on the backs of M1-Abrams tanks to African nations wallowing in the filth of poverty. Nero Fiddles Part II

July 15th, 2006

The ACLU threatens our survival.

Two of the most shameful lies the ACLU has ever perpetrated on the American people are that they are interested in American civil liberties, and that the Constitution calls for the Separation of Church and State.

I challenge anyone to show me where in the Constitution the words “Separation of Church and State” can be found.

The reference to religion the ACLU refers to is in the Bill Of Rights, and what it actually says is: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ” .

It doesn’t say “Except in public schools or courthouses or other public places”.

Nor does it mention anything about not being offensive to atheists or miscreants who won’t respect our colors or religious heritage. If anything, it’s completely ambivalent on the subject of religious expression.

The ACLU has consistently held the position that the Constitution should keep the most liberal interpretation, meaning essentially that it permits most anything not actually prohibited by law. Except of course when it comes to Christian prayer. Muslims are free to pray in America anytime or anywhwere they please.

You have to ask yourself why?

The ACLU was co-founded by Roger Baldwin, a pacifist and Communist sympathizer, Crystal Eastman, a radical militant feminist and other goofball socialist characters with no interest whatsoever in protecting the American way of life.

I submit to you, it is still their profound wish to destroy it so they can remake it in their gender neutral, socioeconomically equal, militarily neutered, Communist Ideal. They want to take away our heritage, rewrite history and turn us into nothing more than a bunch of pacifist, weaponless, Godless, emasculated sheep, sucking on the teat of Communism.

In conclusion:

The US Senate is working overtime to obliterate the US borders and attack our own socioeconomic infrastructure by flooding it with hundreds millions of illegal aliens over the next few decades, many of whom have the stated goal of overthrowing the US Southwest and returning it to Mexico through the US political process and electing of US candidates who support their ideals;

The ACLU, Human Rights attorneys, the Supreme Court and the Democratic party are dead set on ensuring that terrorists have more protections that we do in fighting them;

And the American leadership –not the military– lacks a fundamental understanding of the mindset of our enemy. The mindset of a bully. The mindset of a terrorist intent on sowing fear and panic by sinking to new lows each week in terms of how they use a civilized nation’s laws, freedoms, customs and technology against it.

The mindset of people who are so brainwashed that they gleefully blow themselves up, not as an anomaly to win or end a conflict, but as a military doctrine and a rule of engagement to fight it.

We are constantly one step behind these people. We are perpetually reactive, instead of proactive. You can’t win anything that way. Winning requires initiative and guts, two qualities that the Bush Administration is sorely lacking.

Combine the internal problems of the US, the Iraq war mess, the stalemate in Afghanistan, the other two tentacles of the Axis of Evil -Iran and North Korea- the latter whom launched 7 missiles to mark our Independence and the declaration of all out war by Hezbollah in the Middle East and President Bush is in it way over his head.

Excuse me for a moment. I think I smell smoke…
