War of Wits

The Scourge of Our Times

“Multiculturalism is not a rational idea, but is part of the tyranny of wishful thinking that inevitably accompanies the decay of reason.” - Political Correctness - British Author/Researcher Phillip Atkinson

The primary role of any government is to ensure the safety, security and well-being of its citizens while intruding as little as possible into their personal affairs. The secondary role of any government is to ensure that while fulfilling it’s primary role, the will of the majority is given the utmost consideration. But when the will of the majority is no longer even of tangential concern to the government, particularly when said government engages in unapologetic social engineering, thought control or redistribution of wealth, it is tyrrany that prevails.

What Part of “God Damn America” Don’t You Understand?

May 4th, 2008

“Now, the implications from the outside are obvious. If I see God as male, if I see God as white male, if I see God as superior, as God over us and not Immanuel, which means “God with us,” if I see God as mean, vengeful, authoritarian, sexist, or misogynist, then I see humans through that lens. My theological lens shapes my anthropological lens. And as a result, white males are superior; all others are inferior. And I order my society where I can worship God on Sunday morning wearing a black clergy robe and kill others on Sunday evening wearing a white Klan robe. I can have laws which favor whites over blacks in America or South Africa. I can construct a theology of apartheid in the Africana church (ph) and a theology of white supremacy in the North American or Germanic church. “  - Rev. Jeremiah Wright at the National Press Club 4/28/08

In case you missed the first round of endless excerpts from “The Best of Rev. Jeremiah Wright”, we were blessed again last week with the inspirational and uplifting rhetoric of Barack Obama’s former pastor. Having finally emerged from the sewer, Wright confirmed his depravity in front of the National Press Club by essentially restating his cockamamie theories about government culpability for AIDS and alleged US terrorism. Misdirected Energy

April 27th, 2008

While the screws are put to average American in the form of taxpayer bailouts of self-serving, greedy financial interests the government deems too important to let collapse or soaring fuel and food costs, both the Bush Administration and the 110th Congress continue to fiddle while Rome burns.

They pass everything from token measures such as Bush’s economic stimulus package to Congress’ pet mortgage reform, to Nancy Pelosi’s behemoth “comprehensive” energy bill - using economic, environmental and cultural socialism to deal with America’s ills. But the reality is that these measures taken by our leadership on both sides of the aisle are anything but helpful. In fact they are quite damaging. Just Words?

April 20th, 2008

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them… It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” - Barack Obama

Barack Obama was a virtual unknown until he gave a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Since then, he has made much of the power of words. He He has made millions writing books. He has hypnotized millions of people on the campaign trail with his speeches about hope and change.

But the words he used weren’t always his own. When attacked by the Clintons as being all talk, his response included plagiarized lines because he felt they were so pivotal to the idea that he was qualified to be president. “Just Words?”, I recall he rhetorically asked.  Yes indeed, this is a man who is very familiar with the power of words. Lie Down With Dogs and You’re Gonna Get Fleas

March 16th, 2008

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a 3 strikes law and then wants us to sing God Bless America… No, no, no! Not God Bless America, God Damn America! That’s in the Bible.” - Barack Obama’s former Pastor and long-time spiritual advisor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright on white oppression in America.

There’s an old saying: “If you lie down with dogs, you’re gonna get fleas.”

And presidential hopeful Barack Obama is evidently beginning to scratch. The mainstream media is finally beginning to do their job, subjecting his background to a minimum level of scrutiny. What was uncovered last week was ugly. It raises serious questions about Obama’s beliefs, his judgment, his background and his ability to unite a polarized country to bring about the change he so vigorously champions.

There’s a Reason They Call It Berserkley

“This fight is about war” - Bay Area Code Pink

The Berkeley, California City Council has declared war on the US Marine Corps.

On January 29, 2007, the Peace and Justice Commission of the Berkeley City Council recommended that the City Manager study the city’s options for running the US Marine Corps out of Berkeley. The recommendation referred to the Marines as a “violent influence”, directed the City Manager to send letters to the Shattuck Avenue Marine Corps recruiting station and the Commandant of the Corps telling them that the recruiting office was not welcome in their city and threatening the Marines that if they chose to stay in Berkeley, that they did so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders. Auto-Economic Asphyxiation

January 27th, 2008

Politicians always subscribe to the theory that throwing money at a problem, regardless of whether the money is ever even used to fix it, is always the solution to said problem. They never concern themselves with the actual implementation of their “fixes”. They simply allocate our money to federal agencies tasked with carrying out their wishes and their job is done. Yet another problem solved.

The economic stimulus package being jointly crafted by the President and the House is not the answer to our problems. It may not help. In fact, it may exacerbate our economic woes. It is by no means a done deal and must pass in the Senate, which signalled that they wanted it expanded.

In its current form, this socialist tripe; this stimulus package consists of tax rebates to 117 million Americans; Six hundred dollars to individuals who earn up to $75,000.00 and $1,200.00 + $300.00 per child for families who earn up to $150,000.00. People or families with incomes above those thresholds (who ironically pay the vast majority of income taxes) will see their rebates shrink as their income rises. Families with incomes above $200,000.00 don’t get squat.

The Democrats’ Jesus Smackdown

December 17th, 2007

As long as Democrats have been engaged in the war against Christmas there have been denials.

Despite years of documented proof such as the government prohibition of public Nativity scenes and other Christian displays, “Seasons Greetings” replacing traditional salutations such as “Merry Christmas”, “Winter break” replacing Christmas break and ad nauseam attacks on Santa, liberals still deny they are at war with Jesus. Well there are now at least nine members of Congress who can no longer deny their true feelings because this time they actually went on record voting against Christ.

Hong Kong, Phooey!

November 26th, 2007

Although the threat of annihilation from Islamic terrorism is center stage, other threats are just as immediate, such as the economic, technological and chemical warfare being visited upon us by China. These threats, while not as sensational and perhaps not as overtly deadly, nevertheless require us to be just as vigilant.

While your government continues its failed strategy of economic and political engagement to try and convince China of our benign intentions, the Chinese simply continue down the same path of foolishness they have been on for decades, taking offense at every perceived slight. First it was our support of Taiwan. Then it was our Navy aircrew whom the Chinese held captive over their claim that their airspace was violated. Now it’s the president awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the Dalai Lama that is proffered by the media as the excuse du jour for the latest Chinese temper tantrum.

A Snowballs’ Chance In Hell

November 5th, 2007

“If the law supposes that…, the law is a ass…”- Dickens

When it comes to squandering precious tax dollars in pursuit of the inane, nothing surprises me. The egocentricity of The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife(DFW) has infested their better judgment, resulting in a phenomenon I call the “caged Machiavelli” - when government officials, politicians or those with sway over the public’s wallet lock themselves into a position that they feel there is no retreat from.

It usually happens over something inconsequential but tends to - shall we say - snowball into something much bigger than anticipated, such as it did in Mollala, Oregon. Rather than concede an inch, these petty little dictators end up dragging good people through the mud, wasting tax dollars and breeding public resentment; embarking on a scorched-earth campaign just to show who’s in charge.

The Profligate, The Pundit and The Puppy

October 22nd, 2007

Now and then, an event hits the news that appears to be a fleeting moment most people won’t remember past dinner. But every so often, due to some cosmic accident, divine intervention or perhaps karma, one of these mere blips on our radar sticks around a while and shows the true nature of certain media “personalities”. Witness the tale of Ellen Degeneres, Fox blowhard Bill O’Reilly and Iggy the puppy.

Degeneres says she adopted a puppy for herself from Mutts and Moms Rescue and found the puppy incompatible with her cats, so she gave it to her hairdresser’s children in direct violation of the terms of her adoption contract. When the agency found out, they took the puppy back and adopted him to another family. As a result, Degeneres had a complete meltdown on camera and tried to use the public pressure of her show to persuade Mutts and Moms to reconsider. Some Ellen fans took her a little too seriously and allegedly issued death threats to the rescue group. How provincial… (more…)

The Enemy Doesn’t Always Wear a Headscarf

October 15th, 2007

Throughout history the enemies of the United States were easily recognizable;

They wore the red coat and flew the Union Jack; they wore the jackboot and the swastika; they worshipped the rising sun.

In this modern age of global terror, the enemy praises murder. He hides behind burqua-clad women when attacking or evading or he hides in the burqua itself. In his propaganda videos he often wears a headscarf to hide his face. While focusing on our global enemy however, we must be very cautious; for the enemy doesn’t always wear a headscarf. Sometimes he dons a black robe… And bangs a gavel… And makes decisions so contrary to the rule of law that he should not only be removed from the bench, he should be jailed.

Reality Bites

Hokie - “a word that people used to express feeling, approval, excitement, surprise” - Johann Norstedt - Retired VA Tech English Professor

Once again, a suicidal maniac hell-bent on exacting as much revenge as possible has struck one of the nation’s schools, this time a world-class university. But as information about the shootings, suspect and victims arrived at news desks in drips and drabs, the over-the-top coverage of the incident by the mainstream media wasn’t very helpful. In fact, the sensationalism with which NBC, Fox News, and others covered this nightmare did nothing except feed disinformation and rampant speculation.

On the April 16th morning broadcast of Fox News Live, within hours of the conclusion of the massacre, Fox contributor and former D.C. Homicide Detective Rod Wheeler was asked about the possibility that an M-16 may have been this shooter’s weapon of choice. It is unclear -and may never be known- whether a witness reported an M-16, whether a witness assumed that an M-16 was involved due to the volume of fire, or exactly where Fox obtained this information. If you’ll remember the Beltway sniper incident which turned out to be the work of John Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, initial speculation in the media was that a military-trained sniper was likely involved. Similarly, the immediate focus of the media speculators once again fell on a member of our armed forces in Blacksburg. Mr. Wheeler wondered aloud on camera what the shooter’s affiliation to the military might have been, as M-16s were not exactly easy to come by.

Shuttle Diplomacy

August 20th, 2007

The US Space program has been the pride and joy of Americans and the envy of the world for half a century. Manned missions such as Mercury, Skylab, Gemini and Apollo helped set the tone for the space race and the end of the Cold War. They have also contributed greatly to our understanding of mankind’s significance in the evolution of the cosmos.

But manned space flight is a very expensive and very dangerous undertaking with virtually no margin for error. It has already claimed the lives of about two dozen astronauts since NASA’s birth, if you count training accidents. The original Apollo missions were carried out with technology that -while highly reliable and advanced by 1960’s standards- was slower, less powerful and less advanced than many of today’s laptop and handheld devices. The Law of Unintended Consequences

August 6th, 2007

History repeats…

The Roman Empire; classic example of an advanced society collapsing under the weight of its own ignorance, debauchery and betrayal. The United States has rumbled down that same path ever since the LSD-dropping, mushroom-taking, orgy-participating days of the 1960’s toasted the brains of much of our current leadership.

What good is representative government if you’re dead?

Over 30 brands of toothpaste containing diethylene glycol…
Vehicle tires
Pet food…
Meat (uh, cardboard…)
Dozens of products made with wheat gluten…
Hundreds of different toys from multiple toy companies resulting in millions of units recalled…
Fireworks…
Picnic tables…

Propane heaters…
Christmas lights…
Crayons…
Disposable cigarette lighters…
Laptop computer batteries…
Surge protectors…
