Democrats Hell-Bent on Legislating Defeat

September 10th, 2007

Democrats are perpetually beating the drum of support for our military men and women. They try and hide it with all of their might, but the true contempt they hold for our nation’s military always seems to escape from the lips of those who speak for the party itself. As a veteran, I consider their insults morally repugnant.

Last year, they screamed for change in Iraq, threatening to pull the plug by whatever means necessary. They purposefully avoided using terms like “withdrawal” or (more accurately) “retreat” to describe what they sought from the President. They said they had a mandate: a “change of course” and a “redeployment”. President Bush gave them both in the form of thousands of extra soldiers to hand the Iraqi government and military some breathing room.

The Melodrama of Barack Obama

August 13th, 2007

Melodrama - 1 a: a work (as a movie or play) characterized by extravagant theatricality and by the predominance of plot and physical action over characterization b: the genre of dramatic literature constituted by such works 2: something resembling a melodrama especially in having a sensational or theatrical quality - © 2006-2007 Merriam-Webster, Incorporated

It’s truly amazing watching Presidential candidates self-destruct, their aspirations evaporating into thin air faster than the exorbitant amounts of soft money they spend attacking their opponents. The recent spate of comments by Barack Obama regarding Pakistan show that regardless of how many degrees one may possess (real or honorary), or how many books they’ve written, it’s still possible to be too young, brash and inexperienced to occupy the office of President of the United States. Consider the following example and then choose your next President carefully.

While chatting up a friendly group of black journalists and trying to whip up resentment against George W. Bush, Obama stated hypothetically that if he were president and the US possessed actionable intelligence on terrorist targets in Pakistani tribal areas; if Pakistan wouldn’t act on those targets, he would. A Race To The Bottom

July 9th, 2007

Although I often scoff at corny liberal bumper stickers, the latest one “2008: End of an error” couldn’t be more prescient, given the political landscape we find ourselves in. As an independent conservative, I readily admit that on the issue of George Bush, I now have come to agree with many a liberal and believe that Bush has surpassed Bill Clinton as the worst president in American history.

That doesn’t mean that I’ll necessarily crowd the polls to vote for a Democrat just because Bush has turned his back on me and millions of other Americans, just that Bush was all talk. Nothing more than a bunch of Texas euphemisms. He has consistently failed to deliver during the balance of both terms, angering Democrats (good) and alienating Republicans (bad).

Only In The Mind of a Liberal

July 2nd, 2007

Only in the mind of a liberal did George Bush, the CIA or any American have anything to do with the September 11th attacks.

Only in the mind of a liberal should society sanction and pay for the execution of an unborn baby, but not the execution of those beyond redemption.

Only in the mind of a liberal is Osama bin Laden a holy warrior, while George Bush the anti-Christ

Maritime Security: The Soft Underbelly

June 18th, 2007

The most important element of any national security strategy is border security. Borders are one of the primary ways we are distinguished as a nation. A border is solemn. It is not an abstract notion; not something to be held as inconsequential or violated any time a foreigner chooses to do so. On June 10th, 2007, while Congress was ratcheting up the rhetoric to try and convince the American people it was serious about border security, I personally witnessed my borders being repeatedly violated by foreign nationals coming ashore undetected by law enforcement or military personnel. This time, the violators were probably the harmless crew of a foreign cargo vessel. Next time they could be al Qaeda-linked terrorists.

Hamasketeers: “Why? Because We Hate You”

May 13th, 2007

“Oh, Oh, its answer is an AK-47″ - Al Aqsa Television 4/16/2007

When the Palestinian people held free and fair elections and Hamas was handed the reigns of power back in early 2006, the conventional wisdom was that radical elements within the various Palestinian factions would be neutralized or at least tempered if they were given a stake in their own future. Despite a staunch refusal to renounce violence and continuing calls for the destruction of Israel by the Palestinians, many in the international community lent their full support to the fledgling government.

After the elections, when it became clear that Hamas was still beholden to the annihilation of the Jews, Israel, the United States and Canada among others swiftly cut off foreign aid, in effect levying sanctions against the Palestinian government. But as we’ve seen time and time again in Iraq, Iran, North Korea and many others, sanctions themselves do not work and in reality have the opposite effect, hardening the resolve of those living under them. Nappy-Headed (Ho)use Speaker Disses Bush, Raps With Gangsta

April 14th, 2007

The self-proclaimed Most Powerful Woman in America, The Imperial Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is a clear and present danger to this country. Let’s begin just prior to when Pelosi took the reigns, just before the drubbing of the GOP. Back in November 2006, just prior to the mid-term election that swept her into power and playing to her home crowd in an SFGate article, Pelosi questioned whether the Iraq Study Group could come up with any proposal that would be different than what Bush was suggesting. One of the Study Group’s primary recommendations was to make diplomatic overtures to Iran and Syria. Now here she is only a few months later, hypocritically snubbing the President for not following the ISG’s counsel and usurping the role of the Secretary of State, while taking credit for implementing recommendations in the report she openly criticized before it was even published.

Whose Side Are You On, Anyway?

April 11th, 2007

It has long been alleged by conservatives that there is a liberal bias to the media. It has also been alleged by liberals -although with much less to support the allegations- that there is a conservative bias to the media. In an effort to determine in which direction the scales of bias tilt, let’s examine some of the documentary evidence in support of the argument of liberal bias. Below are just a few of the more recent, notable examples.

Rosie: “My Weight Loss Secret? I ran…”

April 4th, 2007

Rosie O’Donnell really needs to cut down sharply on her trips to the supermarket. That way, she wouldn’t have two and a half hours during checkout to browse through the tabloids searching for inspiration for the next segment on her bully pulpit, ABC’s the View. Many of the accusations she has leveled in recent weeks are so bizarre, they aren’t even worthy of tabloid coverage.

Co-hosted by Barbara Walters, a 247 year old washed-up journalist who has had so many face lifts she has not just defied, but indeed defeated gravity; Joy Behar, a teacher who gave up an honorable profession to become an obnoxious comedienne (a joke all by itself); and Elisabeth Hasselbeck who became famous for -of all things- getting kicked off of Survivor Island, it is no small wonder that the plug hasn’t been pulled on this garbage yet.

A Dangerous Dialectic

March 25th, 2007

The United States is well on its way to Marxism and may be further along than many people thought. It is well known that there are many professors in American universities that espouse Marxist, collectivist viewpoints. They do so openly.

But how far does this go? How harmful is a bunch of hippie Marxist rhetoric? Aren’t these just the rantings of some isolated loons? The argument I will put forth says that it is all around us. It permeates everything. It influences our thoughts and deeds. It is used by the UN. It is used by Democrats. Hell, it is even used by Republicans in the Senate. It is used by anyone pushing any sort of globalist agenda. Karl Marx would be proud.

Ploy or Redeploy? That is the Question

March 18th, 2007

deploy [v] de – ploi (Fr.) déployer, literally, to unfold.

1). to extend (a military unit) especially in width. to place in battle formation or appropriate positions. 2). to spread out, utilize, or arrange for a deliberate purpose <deploy a sales force> <deploy a parachute> 3). to move, spread out, or function while being deployed <the troops deployed along the front> <the parachute failed to deploy> © 2007 Merriam Webster Inc.

I’m sick and tired of this debate. I’m sick and tired of watching while a bunch of defeatists determine the fate of this nation based on their contortions of the English language. Conservatives have –for far too long– allowed liberals to define the terms of the political debate. Case in point: This notion of “phased redeployment”. Democrats have seized on this term. It is painfully obvious that the definition of “deploy” means that you are going to use something for the purpose it was intended. In the military’s case, that is to blow things up and kill people.

Blood Is Thicker

“The tears sliding down my face are not a sign of weakness - they affirm a father’s love for his Marine son” - Darryl Sharratt on his son, USMC Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt

USMC Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt

Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt is a decorated United States Marine. He fought in the battle for Fallujah, modern urban combat at it’s worst, involving house-to-house and hand-to-hand fighting that killed some of Justin’s fellow Marines. But for Justin, Fallujah was only the beginning.

Justin’s father Darryl wants the world to know that although Justin is home from Iraq, he’s still fighting for his life. Justin is charged with three counts of unpremeditated murder during an ambush followed by a ferocious firefight in Haditha, Iraq in November, 2005. When we spoke last Saturday, Darryl sounded upbeat. He had just gotten off the phone with one of his attorneys, while his wife Theresa was one the line with another. He explained that the attorneys seemed satisfied with the progress of defense discovery.

Truth And Consequences

March 4th, 2007

Last week, I made the case that liberals lacked the will and the spine to fight when necessary. Liberal opposition to that column was minuscule but very loud, which is in and of itself, stereotypically liberal. There is yet to be one cogent, coherent liberal argument why we should allow Iraq to fall under the control of al Qaeda, because a US withdrawal could mean just that.

All they can muster is some name-calling and emotional arguments that we are the aggressors who bombed the hell out of innocent Iraqis. Oh yeah, they also love the troops and want them to come home. That and some nutty conspiracy theories that the US wants Iraqi oil or permanent bases so the neo-conservatives can take over the world is all they’ve got. The reason why John Murtha’s treasonous strategy is a non-starter and the reason why liberals are now beginning to lose momentum on the debate over the war, is that they are –once again– appealing to emotion instead of reason and ignoring the real central issues of the Iraq debate. The truth and consequences.

Liberal Licentiousness

February 25th, 2007

Licentiousness - lI-’sen(t)-sh&s-n&s - 1. Lacking legal or moral restraints. 2. Disregarding sexual restraints. 3. Marked by disregard for strict rules of correctness. ©2006-2007 Merriam Webster Inc.

The liberal mind is infected… Diseased.

The disease places the victim in a persistent vegetative state with no cerebral centers of judgment or restraint and presents as a chronic inability to visualize the long-term consequences of one’s actions. Although I am a political independent, the main reasons that I never trust a liberal are their moral bankruptcy and licentiousness, their complete absence of logic and their tendency to willingly contribute to their own demise if it will bring their utopian ideals of social justice and the redistribution of American wealth to fruition.
