The 2008 primary season has barely begun and already there are more ugly examples of campaign shenanigans on both sides than ever before. It matters not that voters have consistently voiced their desire to hear the candidates’ positions on the issues; all we get is the occasional self-aggrandized version of one’s record, followed by copious attacks on their opponent’s records topped off with personal attacks on the opponents themselves by private investigators and muckrakers of every stripe.
Let’s have a look at what a few of the leading candidates are up to so you can make an informed decision about which Americans may not be the best president.

Although I often scoff at corny liberal bumper stickers, the latest one “2008: End of an error” couldn’t be more prescient, given the political landscape we find ourselves in. As an independent conservative, I readily admit that on the issue of George Bush, I now have come to agree with many a liberal and believe that Bush has surpassed Bill Clinton as the worst president in American history.
That doesn’t mean that I’ll necessarily crowd the polls to vote for a Democrat just because Bush has turned his back on me and millions of other Americans, just that Bush was all talk. As a veteran who nearly paid the ultimate price for my service, I hold no day more sacrosanct than Memorial Day. Not even Independence Day is as important, for without the sacrifice of the fallen in pursuit of our continued freedom, there would be none. No America as we know it today.
As Memorial Day weekend draws near, my mind wanders away from life’s trivial matters to the stories of brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Heroes such as Neil Roberts, Jason Dunham, Lori Piestewa, Thomas Tucker, Pat Tillman, Adam Conboy and even a shipmate of mine, Shane Shields. Their names as well as their selfless sacrifices are forever etched in my mind.

Early indications are that John Edwards is having a spot of trouble.
After hiring, supporting, and then finally accepting the resignation of Amanda Marcotte -a vitriolic Christophobe- as his campaign blogger, he went on television trying to argue that Jesus would be offended at the greed and indifference of the average American. Now it seems that several key endorsements from his home state of South Carolina are slipping away. And thus begins a case study in hypocrisy.
